Laurence Grigorov has served as executive director of the residential property development firm Laurence Martin Developments (LMD) in Johannesburg, South Africa, since 2004. In addition to overseeing project management for turnkey residential developments, Laurence Grigorov supports charitable groups such as the National Sea Rescue Institute.

Fully operated by volunteers, the National Sea Rescue Institute aims to prevent drowning along the South African coast and on inland dams. In addition to performing rescues, the organization implements preventive measures and educates the public on water safety and emergency procedures.

The National Sea Rescue Institute visits schools around the country, focusing on underserved communities, to provide life-saving information about topics such as emergency signage, rip currents, and basic CPR. The program utilizes entertaining interactive methods to teach students how to avoid problems in the water, as well as how to handle various emergencies. Since the school program’s establishment in 2006, it has taught more than two million students valuable water safety skills.

Respite Care at Woodland Care Centre

An executive with extensive experience in engineering and business management, Laurence Grigorov is the director of Laurence Martin Developments, a property development and construction firm in South Africa. Laurence Grigorov supports several South African philanthropic organizations, among them the Woodside Special Care Centre, previously called Woodside Sanctuary.

Located in Cape Town, South Africa, Woodside Special Care Centre provides long-term residential care for intellectually disabled children and young adults. In addition to occupational and physical therapy, the facility provides respite care for the families of children with disabilities. Respite care is available daily, weekly, or monthly, and offers families temporary relief from the daily work of caregiving.

In the case of longer holidays or absences, families can apply for up to three months of respite care. Woodland Care Centre offers children in respite care numerous activities and skills development, including help with tasks such as feeding and dressing themselves. Additionally, residents can participate in playtime and water therapy as well as take walks in the natural outdoor areas surrounding the facility.
