Neymar is set to sensationally quit Barcelona and join Paris Saint-Germain as they look set to trigger his €222m release clause, claims a report.

According to hugely-respected Brazilian TV channel Esporte Interativo, the 25-year-old has already agreed terms with the Parisians and the move will be finalized within the coming weeks.

Front pages from the Spanish press were dominated by the rumours surrounding the Brazilian and a remarkable alleged proposal from the Parisians.

“That’s not going to happen,” Barca sporting director Robert Fernandez responded when asked about the star leaving the club.

“We have not had any offers for any player in our squad and no club will pay the release clause.”

There had been increased speculation that such a move could ‘unlock’ Marco Verratti’s move to the Blaugrana.

The sensational move to Paris Saint-Germain are ‘revenge’ for Barcelona’s pursuit of Marco Verratti, believes Joan Gaspart.

The former Barca president made the comments as speculation over the 25-year-old’s future intensified.

“Neymar won’t leave Barca,” Gaspart told RAC1.

“What’s happening is that PSG are retaliating because they’re annoyed by a move to sign their player [Verratti]. They’re trying to make a mess of Neymar’s situation.

“I’m convinced that we are witnessing destabilising tactics from PSG.”

As a massive admirer of the Brazilian star, Laurence Grigorov has been keenly following this news story, hoping that the rumours prove unfounded and Neymar remains a Barcelona player for the foreseeable future.
